ICEA is a consortium that inspects and certifies companies that respect mankind and the environment in the pursuit of business, protecting the dignity of workers and consumer rights. With around 16,000 certified farms of strong ethical, environmental and social value, 250 technicians and 24 Regional operative Facilities in Italy and Abroad, ICEA is one of the most important bodies of the sector in Italy and Europe, where it operates to encourage fair and socially sustainable development, ranging from organic farming to other bioecological sectors.
ICEA certifications span across multiple fields, from Food sectors (organic agrifood and organic aquaculture) to Non-Food sectors (organic cosmetics and toiletries, organic and ecological textiles, ecological furniture, sustainable tourism, materials for green building, the sustainable management of green areas, SA8000 certification).
ICEA also pursues Research and Development activities to promote the ecological innovation of products and production processes. It is also active in International and National Cooperation projects.
Together with CREA, Padua, it has prepared Specifications for Moriculture and Sericulture Certification, approved in March 2015 by MIPAAF (Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies).
