Massimo Miotto Farm was founded in 1998, true to its family’s original line of business. Its main crops are mixed grains and intensive horticulture, including peas, potatoes, beans, onions and pumpkins, which are sold directly to consumers.
In 2015 the company resumed another long-standing family tradition: silkworm rearing.
In 2016 Massimo Miotto participated in moriculture and sericulture training courses held by CREA, Padua, and began producing cocoons in accordance with the technical specifications and traceability methodologies of the 100% Italian silk production chain.

Together with other silkworm farmers, in 2017 it contributed towards founding the Network of Agricultural Companies “Bachicoltura Setica” (Fair sericulture), of which Giorgia Pattaro is Vice president.

ROLE IN THE PROJECT
  • Moriculture and sericulture demonstrative activities:
    – silkworm rearing;;
    – mulberry cultivation;
    – use of machine for the removal of cocoons from mountings and cocoon deflossing.
  • Interaction with other partners for economic analysis and production chain traceability.
  • Participation in awareness-raising and entertainment activities in the local area.
